: Born Under a Bad Sign
Chapter
Arts
6-10
November
Chapter’s experimental and often madcap festival is 13 years
old and to celebrate the number that is unlucky for some this year’s theme is ‘Born
Under a Bad Sign’. Exploring fate, risk, destiny and failure the five day feast
of interdisciplinary arts looks like it’s going to be one of the best yet.
The festival offers up an eclectic mix of new work across a
huge range of media – theatre, installations, music, performance art, film,
dance, sketches......the list is endless and there is always something for
everyone in the frantic medley of new
works. The line-up features many established and up and coming Welsh artists
and others have come from far and wide to participate.
Chapter have also teamed up with the British Film Institute
to present a season of Gothic film across the autumn months. Featuring well
known classics such as Frankenstein
(the NT Live version with Benedict Cumberbatch!), The Wicker Man and The Hound of
the Baskervilles there is plenty to set your spine tingling.
At only £25 for a full festival pass or £10 per day this
festival is an absolute must-see. For a bargain price you will see some of the
most daring and boundary pushing work happening right now.
